Epsilon Alpha Chapter at Florida Gulf Coast University

Chapter Philanthropy & Service

Epsilon Alpha makes several efforts to raise money for St. Jude and spread awareness to others around us about our philanthropy. This past semester we put on events such as 3K in a Day and Dolphin Daze.

3K in a Day was an event that we tried for the first time which we promote around campus and online to raise $3,000 in just 24 hours. We also hosted Dolphin Daze which is our annual philanthropy week consisting of a collection of events such as Pie a Tri, Canoe Battleship, Proceeds Night, and Frats at Bat which the fraternity men compete in.

For Pie a Tri, sisters gather in the middle of our campus and any students and professors can come pie us with shaving cream. Canoe Battleship consists of teams of 4 per fraternity at our Aquatics Center where they battle using limited materials to drown the other canoes. Our proceeds night is available to everyone and Frats at Bat is a baseball tournament. At the end of the week, the Fraternity that gathers the most amount of points wins a prize and money back to their philanthropy as well.

For next semester, we will be hosting annual events such as DHOP, St. Jude Soldier and Sincerely Yours, and a 72 person charity outing golf tournament for the very first time! We are excited to incorporate new ways to raise money for St. Jude and educate others in the community about the impact they have on so many children’s lives and their families. This past semester, we sent St. Jude a check for nearly $17,000 for cancer research and are excited to only raise more.
